Tonight I got a tiny glimpse into how incredibly BIGand AMAZINGand POWERFULand INDESCRIBABLEour God truly is! I was @ the Chris Tomlin/Matt Redman/Louie Giglio concert and basically, God showed up! *Sidenote: if you have never heard Louie speak, you should go
right now and download some of his sermons – he is awesome! Anyway, tonight he did a spin off of his “indescribable” sermon from last year’s tour and basically what we learned about is how incredibly tiny we are and how insanely HUGE our God is! He told us all kinds of crazy facts about the solar system and stars and planets and gave us so many numbers I thought my head was going to explode, but in a good way!! My favorite part of the message was definitely the last part when we learned about the molecule called “laminin’ which is an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in EVERY animal tissue! (Essentially, its entire “job” in the body is to hold the cells together!) So…the coolest part is that the molecular structure of these little tiny cells - that are SO IMPORTANT and are more or less the “glue” that holds our bodies together – is in the exact shape of a cross! How awesome is it that the cells that “hold everything together”in our bodies are in the exact shape of the symbol of the One that holds everything together in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE! Hopefully that made sense...
Here's a picture of the structure of laminin:
How GREAT is our God!!
Seriously!
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” Colossians 1:15-17
I have heard him give that same message, what a great message it is. We are nothing. Isn't God incredible?

We were blessed as FYMs at training camp to see Louie's video on his message of how great our God is. Let me tell you, I fell in love with God 100 times over after watching that. How can someone create something so complex but still put up with our daily stupidity? It blows my mind! But He's simply amazing!
Be blessed

Whenever I started reading that I thought it was pretty insane that you wrote that. But Im not totally sure that it was the same guy you're talking about, but this past sunday we showed a video the Jr. and Sr. highers a video about that type of stuff. And it was pretty amazing some of the pictures that this guy was showing.

Wow how amazing- isn't God so awesome . I never heard the actual message by him but a little about it, but did not quite understand. But this makes sense now and wow that's awesome thank you for sharing!

Hey~ I went to that concert too, in Minneapolis. That sermon was amzing. I liked that part too. It reminded me how much we need God to stay together, and how small we are compared to the world~

I have to say that I went to that show too, and it was one of the best nights of worship I have ever been to. They did an amazing job of describing how astronomically big God is. It blew me away. My mother is a promotions director in Knoxville so I have been to a plethera of shows, and this one was by far the most impacting!

Isn't it also neat that laminin is also made up of three parts? Also I found out that the scientific abbreviation of laminin is Lamb2. God is Wonderful. I have been saved for 16 years and I no longer believe in coincidences. Everything is for a reason. It is also the reason that matter has three states, solid, liquid, and gas. Read Romans 1:20

It is so amazing that he told Nicadomas tha you must be born again,he said that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. the sprit within us is what count's.we are justified by his resurrection!

I really really really enjoyed this concert back in march. It was awesome. I was wondering if you might have remembered the names of the stars that he used to compare the earth to. I am searching, I think I might have the right ones but I am not sure. I think that they were Betelgeuse,Ky cygni and Mu Cyphie. If you know or can find out could you respond via e-mail? Thanks and God-bless!

I saw this video message at my church yesterday Jan 6, 2008 at Discovery Church in Orlando, FL. It touched me so deeply that I am still in awe of His Awesome Magnificent Majesty and His incredible love and desire to be close to us. I know someone who desperately needs to see this ASAP, they are strugling and this would be just what the Doctor Ordered! How can I get the video of "How Great Is Our God" by Louie Giglio?
May The God of the Universe continue to bless your ministry and all those that Glorify His name.
Could you Please help?
Sincerely,

17Posted by Adam on 2/16/2008 9:56:15 AM
I do some public speaking myself, and I love this talk. In my own work I have done something similar - check this out: the world when viewed from space is actually smoother than a billiard ball at the same scale. Now think about the biggest mountains - Everest, Chimborazo, Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea - and how small we are in comparison. Then, how much bigger is the galaxy, the solar system, etc. and I found a picture from Hubble which looks like a starfield but is 90+ percent galaxies. Then, you take a God who SPOKE this all into existence purely by His will, and He came to save us IN PERSON. How great is God's love for us!

Oh! greatly amazing.. Who we are compares to His glory and majesty? He is the one who hangs the star one by one.. who put it in their own places.. even the universe is really beautiful still we are God's beloved because we are the most precious creation of God..

Are Christians dumbing down?
Are you so controlled by this way of thinking that you can't think critically?
God gave you a mind that can be used to weed out information that is FRIVOLOUS and to concentrate on the information that is SIGNIFICANT.
While it may be neat that this protein molecule, when diagrammed, is in the shape of a cross, that's really all it is: neat. What it is not is some kind of innate proof of the existence of a god, The God of the Bible or Jesus.
If a researcher found a molecule in the shape of a Sleigh, would it be proof of the existence of Santa Claus? Would they go head-over-heels about it? No. It would go something like this:
"Wow, that kind of looks like a sleigh."
and then they would move onto something of importance.
Please remember that critical thinking is what strengthens ideas.
An X-Ray Santa Claus in Orion:
The European Space Agency's XMM-Newton X-ray observatory has discovered a huge cloud of high-temperature gas resting in a spectacular nearby star-forming region, shaped somewhat like the silhouette of Santa Claus.

I saw the show at my youth group Wednesday June 4,2008. My friend was there that night and when it came to the part where he shows what yo looked like at three days old my friend SHOUTS OUT "IT'S A WHALE". It was a amazing show how we each are a miricales in gods eyes. SO AMAZING

Santa Claus did not save me from hell. I am sad that so many people in this earthly life have been so hurt that it keeps them from the truth which is being prooven to us daily. To you my friend who is so analytical...I give...Numbers 6:24 "The Lord bless you and keep you and shine His face upon you and turn toward you and be gracious to you and turn His face upon you and give you peace." Let go and Let GOD. Servant of the mighty GOD.

God is far more than we can imagine. We are also learning at bible college just to love the Lord as much as He loves us. Not to tell Him what we need but to allow Him to give us what we need. The DVD just shows us that God is far greater than we will ever comprehend and He doesnt need our help in taking care of us.

God is an awsome God and through him i believe that we can acomplish all, and you are a great example. I love what you are doing, and you are a great role model. I guess we all need some laminin to hold us together and you can find all you need in Jesus. I pray to put him first but even though, i still try to do right. Not to much in life is easy i guess. Keep it up Krista good job!!!!

I was a bit scornful when this man told me it changed his life... but now i understand. I've been trying for months to get this and i am desperate

This is one of the best videos I have ever watched! Truly life-changing!
32Posted by David on 5/12/2009 6:47:24 PM
This is ridiculous. You are using a scientific structural drawing of a molecule to "prove" your belief? What if I found a molecule shape of laminin that "proves" the existence of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. What does that tell you?
Why don't you take your PROOF to the Moslem countries and convert these guys, after all you have irrefutable PROOF that your God exists. Unless they find a molecule in the shape of a crescent. Watch out for Jewish scientists looking for one in the shape of a Minorah.
Really, when are you guy going to be happy in your belief and stop trying to prove it. It's almost like you need to confirm that you believe in God. How weird is that? You keep spending money on DVD's that make the speakers like this Louie fellow rich when he is speaking utter rubbish. I don't doubt his belief but I DO doubt his science!
33Posted by trista on 5/16/2009 11:16:22 AM
david, u r wrong! i think it is completly amazing that the structure holding our bodies together is shaped like the cross! also, i do doubt ur explaination!
34Posted by Jaco on 6/12/2009 5:36:20 AM
Well it seems to be working – all these dvd’s save lives and make people think.
After all our KING is KING of all kings.

Reason and intelligence is something most people are not blessed with. I have rarely heard so much blunder. Every person who is equipped with at least a little amount of intelligence is banging his head against a wall over so much stupidity. Learn to think!
Furthermore: If you want to prove something, you cannot assume that it is true in the first place!
And to the one who said that he rather is silly and believes instead of thinking critically and then finding out he was wrong: Did it ever occur to you that there might not be a god at all or that you might pray to the wrong god? Then you might find out later that you are wrong now. After all: You only believe in this particular god because the people who raised you did. (But of course you will deny this claim and each and everyone of you chose after careful consideration the god in whom the family believed. ;) ) And since your parents know everything ;) and you are accostomed to interpret everything just so that it fits your believes (even if the argument is not valid like in this example) and disregarding every fact that counters it, you stick to the god your parents believed in which they did because their parents believed in him. But that doesn't make this god or your believes true.
And in case you fear god will strike you down for reading my post: I am still alive and I wrote this post. You know, if you are afraid of criticism, something is really wrong with your worldview (otherwise you would have no problems refuting it) and if you are afraid god will punish you for reading criticism, you should ask yourself why he is so afraid of critics. Doesn't he have good arguments to speak for themselves.
If you are not afraid that god will strike you down because he has no problem with you thinking about critical arguments, then once in your life assume that your god does not exist (maybe some other or none at all) and then think about it carefully and honestly, otherwise you can NOT claim your believe is based on anything other than superstition and copying what other people around you do and think.
Remember, if you were born in Tibet you would most probably be buddhist now. And you would be as convinced about your buddhistic way of life as you are now of your christian believes. (If you deny that you are a liar.) Do you think you are more important, more precious than the people who are not born in christian countries? You must, because you just like that believe that you have the right religion from birth and the bigger part of the world has not. Every other religion has its "proofs" which are very similar to yours and every bit as faulty as yours. Yours are nothing special.
36Posted by Ali on 12/9/2009 6:57:14 PM
Dear Ma (and anyone else who found Louie's presentation absurd):
I prefer to think of correlations such as the laminin example as more of a piece of evidence rather than proof. After all, Christianity is based on faith so there will never be full proof that it's true or not true until, as many have stated in previous comments, it's too late.
I am so sorry for the bad impression other so-called "Christians" have given you. I will be the first to admit I was born in a home that raised me to be "Christian". However, when I got to high school, I did exactly what you are telling others they should do... I stepped away from that belief and explored life on my own. I did explore other religions and I did entertain the idea of there being no god.
While I respectfully disagree with you that this is a necessary way to find truth, I do think you are correct that there are many people in this world that believe what they believe simply for the sake of tradition. I also completely agree with you that in order for a belief to be authentic, people need to do their research, "think about it carefully and honestly", and regardless of parental influence, come to a conclusion because they want to, not because their parents want them to.
When I came to that conclusion in my life, I had been searching for 3 years on my own. I looked at all the evidence objectively and still concluded the God in the bible is the One true God and that He came to earth through the miraculous conception of a virgin in the form of a baby, lived a perfect life, and paid the price for sin through His crucifixion, saving all those who believe.
Trust me, I understand your reservations towards a conclusion like this, but before you completely write it off as absurd or unintelligent, I encourage you to objectively research it for yourself. Please don't assume that all Christians are like the ones you are referring to in your comment. There are actually many Christians out there who have highly intelligent arguments for why they believe what they believe.
A fabulous example of this is "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. He is an investigative journalist from Chicago, and when he first started his own research on Christianity, he didn't believe there was a god either. This book was a great help to me in my search for truth, and it has countless pieces of objective evidence you might find interesting.
In answer to your question of whether we think ourselves more important, I'm sure there are some out there who do (although I would question the authenticity of their faith if I met someone like that). I certainly do not, nor do I think less of you for your skepticism; I respect your right to chose your beliefs. However, though you are correct in your Tibet analogy that they are primarily Buddhist, there are Christians there too. Did you know that the bible is the world's #1 best-selling book of all time?
Peace be with you and I wish you blessings in your search for truth. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
